  • Mr. Mustaine arrives...

... and hangs out on the couch with Mr. Morton.

The Dean came in today, plays great! Has the typical Jackson "speed neck" profile that Dave likes, as well as the smaller, medium jumbo frets, and a nice, slightly striped ebony board. The active JB/Jazz Mustaine Livewires sound very nice, too! Came with a copy of the new Megadeth CD as well.

Photobucket's a little screwy right now, so I'll try to upload some more pics later.

No coffee! Maybe they rubbed it on the board and that's why it's streaked?!? :ROTF:

Do they get to count that CD as one that is sold? Boost their album sales? Good idea...

Nice looking guitar there Joe. Let us know what you think of it after you play it for a while...
          I'm angry because you're stupid

Where is it made? How is the build quality? I was looking into a Gears of War VHMT or whatever the hell its called, but I was really concerned about the build quality.

Cool guitar! How do the Livewires compare to the EMG 81/85 combo?

No idea if they count that as a CD sold or not.

Build quality is nice, it's very lightweight, made in Korea. The only problem now is that I noticed the neck pup was louder than the bridge pup, then it seemed like the bridge was lacking balls, then after awhile there was some cutting out from the bridge pup, then the neck pup. Seems there's some kind of wiring problem, maybe just the switch.
Scott Vwall said I could send it back and he'll send me another one, but there's no need to send it all the way back to Texas from New Jersey just for a wiring problem. He got me the number of a local shop I've been to before that does warranty work for Dean, so I'll just take it in some time this week.

LOL I remember that, Mike. We need to order another Custom Rhoads eventually... and this time have the money to pay for it. :ROTF:

I played one while picking up a guitar from guitar asylum. The quality is pretty good but what really impressed me was the neck. It felt just like my jacksons(cause lets face it we all know that mustaine would be playing jacksons if they offered him as much money lol) The graphic is pretty cool. It looked much better than the razorback explosion in terms of blockeyness and design. Best V in that price range exept for the LTD Amott.

They were sounding pretty damn good until they started to cut out on me!

Nice looking guitar....But think the inlays are a lame attempt to rip Jackson. The dots on them are like someone saying....Hey...If we add dots...no one can sue us. HEHEHE. Congrats one the cool axe.

I look for stuff like wiring on them... something I can easily fix, but something to use to haggle down the price! As for Korea, thats good I guess. I have more faith in the Koreans than I do Chinese or Indonesian. I may just take the dive on one some.
