I took the guitar in to a shop today, so they should figure the electronics problem out today or tomorrow. Here's a few more pics that Scott Vwall sent me awhile ago. The board does look darker in person, and the inlays also look more classy.

Joe, I found these guy's, just in case you decide to upgrade the pots. They have Alpha pots in 25K ohm rating. They are very high quality pots.

How does it compare to a KV2?

I don't own a KV2, and I haven't played one in a very long time, but I'd say it's a little similar since it's got the same neck profile. It's also supposed to be made out of mahogany, but it's pretty lightweight. And, of course, it's string-thru with the V plate instead of a Floyd.
