  • New Steinberger at NAMM

I was at the Kramer forum and someone posted pics and a video of the new Steinberger guitar and new TransTrem (TT3), here you go... what do you'll think? I would love it if it had a more regular strat body or like a GL (the ones that Ed used to play with the small rectangular body).

If you type that as : thaTone

it would have three meanings. It could be that one, or that tone or both at the same time.Man, ain't that great!

Looks good to me. Is it true if break a string they stay in tune?
          Just one more guitar!

            Looks better than a Parker.
I do like it.I've had a few Steinbergers and they were all great guitars.
            Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I hate the body shape and the gi-normous size of the bridge, but I love Steinberger's innovative spirit. If I were to get one of the new USA GLB-2S models (rectangular body) from MusicYo, which have the "S-Trem" would that be the same trem EVH had on the Steinberger he used to play "Summer Nights" on the VH Live DVD? As I understand it, the trem on EVH's kept the strings in tune while lowering or raising pitch and also could be locked in different tunings.

Hmm. I think Eddie's had the Trans-Trem. Not sure of the difference, though.

when I saw the pic I thought, who would buy that POS?

then I saw all the positive remarks...
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

At fist glance, I didn't like the shape. Then it kinda grew on me. It doesn't look good to me standing upright, vertically. In playing position, it looks different and, dare I say, good to me.

I actually like the body shape, the lack of the headstock has always irritated me though. I know you don't need it but cosmetically it looks better. I really like the top on that one too.

Yes Eds one had a Trans-Trem, the difference is that a S-Trem works like a Floyd moving on two post, so the chords go out of tune when you use the bar just like a Floyd would. A Trans Trem Steinberger guitar is deffinetly on my ¨some day will have list¨!
