    EJ Sig# 2477

The neck is fine... new to me but there is no problem playing the thing. Sounds sweet as hell too. I'll get a few more pics up soon for those who are interested.

thanks CRocker, it's a fine weapon. I'm no Eric Johnson but if one were to take a little bit of skill and practice some techniques... well, we might have something to listen to...

      I'm giving it my all

I tried one at a local store and it played really nice! I believe the color on it was called platinum blonde (?). Congrats on your EJ Strat!

Some interesting features on that model (no string trees, nitro finish, etc.) that I'm surprised aren't more common.

Dweezil played one on Zappa Plays Zappa.
please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking

pics'n comparo vs 62 MIA RI

Thanks for your interest and kind words but lets get to business...

I had to dial in channel 2 on my amp for the 02477... it didn't sound right with my normal clean set up vs. 1962 reissue. I now have a really sweet clean sound for the EJ Sig and it responds well to my stomp boxes (digitech Distortion Factory and Radial Tonebone Classic). I've yet to get a really good dirty sound with the 62 RI but I was whaling tonight on the EJ. I actually used the bridge pup and enjoyed it.

The neck is quite thick at the nut but it's no problem for me at all. I like it... sorta meaty and heavy for chords. It really thins out by the 8th fret so there's no problems above that for most players in my opinion.

Fit and finish are impeccable. It comes with thicker strings than I usually use on the '62 RI but I have gotten used to them in about 5 days. I use thick strings on some of my other guitars... no system shock.

Over-all I'd say the EJ would be a nice addition to anyone's collection,

                    best regards,
                    Graham

Why did you get rid of it? Not a strat guy?

                        Graham,
Thanks for the first impressions... sounds promising.
EJ is such a tone perfectionist, I feel as if the subtle specs he layed out for Fender may have both confused them, and take some time to fully appreciate.
I have a feeling that you will, and will fully describe them as they show themselves from time to time.
It's all about tone (violin tone) for EJ, and I'm positive that you will turn a knob or two, and find the tone.
Can't wait to hear your thoughts as that happens.

                          thanks Spike.

I'll let you know how it goes. I don't use a pick so I'm more of an EJ piano man if you get my drift...
