How Does Gibson Denote B-Stock?

EDIT: Unless your guy is a Gibson Repair man it doesn't surprise me that he's never seen it. It's a fairly recent occurance, in the last year or so, and unless he's seen tons of Gibsons, he wouldn't have seen it...

No clue if he's an actual authorized Gibson guy. Just know he's the main shop in the county for repairs. As for pictures of the Xray'd BFG, I'm not seeing it, but I think oru friend Jeff Albertson posted it awhile back, so I'll see if I can find it.

One question, how does the V play and sound? If it sounds good and plays good, this can be fixed. I wouldn't obsess over it. If you are obsessing. If not, nevermind...

Well, I tried the Schaller screw. It just fell right in I then noticed the Gibson screw for the lower horn is about 1.5 times the size of the one on the neck joint screw. It may take it back, as I'm not going to repair a new guitar that is in its return period.

EDIT: Hell, the strap Gibson strap buttons are different now that I look at it.

EDIT 2: I'm goign nuts... grabbed the wrong button but the screw is correct. So both buttons are the same

So by your theory, a brand new car coming off a car carrier at the dealer gets a scratch or dent. Or the car gets dinged on the lot. The dealer fixes it and then sells it as new. It is illegal? I think that happens more than we realise.

Yeah this happens in ALL industries. If manufacturers threw away anything with a tollerable blem that could be fixed and go un-noticed then prices of everything would probably double.

ALSo, Gibson cuts much less as "second" bodies now because of such lines as the Faded series. it is there bottom line now and anything that is not a huge playability problem becomes a Faded series.

Well if you take it back, I guess I'd take a screwdriver to make sure you don't get another one with the same "problem"...

Schaller screws are very small. I usually have to use a toothpick to get them tight...

I played around the blue stuff a bit. Was an anchor, so good call. That said, I took it back. I don't want to monkey with a new guitar just to get my strap locks to work. Plus the fact they felt they needed an anchor didn't inspire faith in terms of overall wood quality, so there you have it. They gave me no issues at GC, and I exchanged it for a Fender Koa Tele on clearance for $350 (apparently they found it in the backroom needing a cleaning and with a couple marks on the back). So I have cash to grab a pedal of some kind tomorrow. All's well that ends well.

I'd be concerned about your repair guy if he couldn't tell there was an anchor there. You may want to find a guy with better woodworking knowledge.

I worked for a car dealer for a short time back in the 90's...this happened regularly and its not illegal. The same goes for guitars. If its fixed at the factory OR by an authorized repair person prior to an individual owning it, it can still be sold as new with no mention made of the fix.

He never had it in his hands. I simply asked if he had heard of Gibson using anchors over the phone.
