  • Can anyone help? Looking for a part.

Don't know if this is the right place to ask. I'm looking for four of these bad boys: Fender HM knobs. All that sets em apart is the F on top. Other than that, they are normal knobs.

Maybe budman could make 'em from Aluminium??

If anyone can help out, I'd be grateful. I have two HMs crying out for them...!

You mean I should make a little F myself?

What straycat is getting it is that the HM knobs have rubber on the sides of the knob, unlike typical strat-style knobs. He was just trying to help more clearly define the knobs you are looking for.

By the way, I'm curious about the answer as I have black HM Strat, also.

The only place that I can think of to possibly source some knobs is eBay if someone's parting out an HM.
Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

I need a set like that for my Roscoe Beck Bass. I have found similar ones but they don't have the F on top.
          Damn, I love this Interweb.

Thanks for the clarification...I don't know about your HM my knobs don't seem rubbery...they seem all plastic!

I know that on ebay UK a few months ago a seller sold 3 HM knobs for US $35 or so...

Annoyingly, this was the same auction I won the HM body + neck on! I was outbid. Kinda seems incomplete without the "real" knobs.

I am guessing anyone who can make them will have a lot of customers!

krimson, do you think these were only found on HMs and your bass? I have not seen them around much at all.

Every HM strat I've had over the years had the rubber on the knobs.

                They are very hard to find. I have 4 HM's, 2 Strats & 2 Tele's. Only 2 have the original knobs. G

I would think if you scrounge around a local music store's junk box you'll find some and pick them up on the cheap.
Thats my method for finding vintage pickups.I think I will do that tomorrow and if I find some knobs I'll P.M. you.

Wow, thanks stray. My local shops are sucky mom and pop ones, just two. They didn't even have a Fender trem arm in stock, when I went yesterday for gawds sake!

The mom and pop stores are the best place to find that kind of stuff.Get to know them and be freindly that will get you on their good side.
I did that and I get all the old Kahler parts I need.Bought a NOS Kahler and auto latch for $100.00 now thats a deal.
No luck on the knobs today but I'll keep trying.Going to a different place tomorrow who knows what I may find. Found a Kramer stagemaster today and an old Kramer beak headstock neck.

Thanks for keeping an eye out, Mr. Straycat. I'll do what S-O-M suggests too, I think. (Thanks for the idea S-O-M!)
