  • My new LaPatrie Presentation Classical

Got this a couple of weeks ago (as mentioned in the "Recommend me a classical" thread).

Sounds good, plays good. The neck is thinner than others I've played, thanks to the trussrod (others rely on the thickness of the wood to stay straight).

Haven't recorded anything with it yet, but so far the electronics don't appear to sound thin and plasticky.

      Looks nice!
I've been thinking about getting a true classical, also.
I'm still trying to relearn...undoing 30 plus years of shaky habits is tough!

Tell me about it! I've never used the tips of my fingers to fret, always the pads (or just behind the tips). I'm trying to focus on using the tips more but I revert to my old ways too quickly, which limits the types of chording I can do (clean picking chords without choking out the note below the one I'm fretting, etc) as well as keeps my lead lines from being clean - I'm always hitting adjacent strings when my finger flattens out.

Nice grab! I just got in a Godin Classical ACS Slim. (post pics later) It's syth ready. I plug it in and just awesome. The quality is great. It seems all the Godin family, Seagull, LaPatrie, etc. are really nice quality guitars. Yep, I'm back to classical. Quite fun and adds a nice musical tone to the mix.

Great guitar. I have the La Patrie Etude. Sound fantastic for not too many bux.
My Duncan Designed pickups are way better than Seymour Duncan regular pickups you fanboy.
