That came out beautiful. From Jackson, that guitar would probably cost a ton of money.

As far as the headstock, it looks ok. I probably would have went with a variation on the Explorer or Jackson headstock though. Please understand, that is just me and it is not a jab at your beautiful axe.

He should be able to tell you in a few days.

That's a great guitar! Congratulations! Does this luthier have a name?

Is the body narrower at the waist than a standard Kelly? Looks sleeker. Awesome axe!

Yeah I agree. The body looks incredible though. Those pups would look better with "Seymour Duncan" on them though....

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

Yup, the headstock is a bit different, no problems for you guys who don't like it - halfway through the build process looking at pics I began to have doubts myself!! I was a bit worried, but luckily I really dig the look of the finished product.

Sinistas - not sure about that, might be because it's got no bevels? I do know he got the template off an actually Jackson Kelly, though.

For anyone interested in his stuff (he should be paying me for this!! Haha) here is the luthier's website - www.ashcustomworks.com

Aron - His name is Adrian Hamilton, the ASH branding is an abbreviation of his first, middle and last name. How cool is that.

He's based in NZ, but I'm guessing that alone might make it pretty damn affordable for you guys over State-side. But the distance might make communication a bit difficult?

That looks amazing, killer guitar! I think the headstock matches it perfectly, the guys got a real good sense of design.

Any reason for the jarrah? Its a nice hardwood from western australia, I'm keen in picking some up to play with in the not to distant future.

Very cool guitar and it reminds me of a best-of collection between Jackson and B.C. Rich.

And to top it all off, it looks like a Hobie Skateboard. And I mean that with great respect. That is one nice guitar.
I am a true ass set to this board.

No real reason, to be honest - it was a kinda figured wood that was unusual/uncommon, and much cheaper than importing a quilted/flamed/etc piece of maple or whatever for top wood, so I just got him to put it everywhere!! Originally even had jarrah pickup surrounds made, but in the end I decided chrome ones would match the hardware and stand out better.

Rockin' dude, I love seeing our local species in guitars instead of the american/euro mainstays. I think woods from down under will be getting more and more popular in the coming years. At the moment in some places in wa you can drive away truckloads of jarrah for nothing, this wont be the case once the floodgates open!

Love to hear how it sounds!
