it seems like gibson is grabbing for something.....WHAT i am not sure....they prolly think "inovation". i think they should put down the crack pipe.GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....

I agree, it would be better not to have created these lame variations. I guess the marketing thought is along the lines of "there is no such thing a bad publicity." Asked to come up with something new their designers are unable to create anything but only take existing designs and flip them. No talent in the design dept.Comment

Have I accidentally moved to a parallel universe or something. But as someone else pointed out in the thread about the reverse V, it certainly gets people talking about Gibson and I imagine they're happy about that.Fwopping, you know you want to!

Its called marketing.These guitars will not sell well so in the future they will be collector items.I know some guys that buy 3 or 4 of these and hold on to them and take them to shows and make money.In 10 years time they will get 3-4 times what they paid.Really? well screw Mark Twain.Comment

What is amazing to me is that some of the higher-ups at Gibson actually signed off on the production of that abomination. While the body is perhaps an, ahem, "acquired taste", the headstock is beyond fugly.
Straycat - if your buddy can flip some of these abortions in about a decade, more power to him. It still doesn't make the guitar any prettier.Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.Comment
