I guess I'm aminority here but I like the way that reverse Explorer looks, much better than the inverted V anyway.
And reversing shapes is not a new thing for Gibson Either.

Yeah..i remember that one in Galaxy Quest... when they tried to
use the transporter, but it malfunctioned, and turned the creature
inside out~! Same feeling now...
