Yeah, metal is in. Are these supposed to be "metal guitars"? What makes them metal? When did metal become synonymus for ugly? Why wasn't I informed of this? Metal used to mean streamilined, pointy, mean looking. I must be old. Either that, or I have taste.

Here's the deal, if you want to make a real stab at the metal guitar market, I hate to say it, but stick with what works. You need a superstrat type guitar. You need a V of some type, and you need an Explorer/Kelly type deal. If your adventurous, come up with a new design that's a little wilder like a BCR Bich or an Aria Urchin. The main thing is FOR CHRISTS SAKE STOP PUTTING STUPID UGLY PICKGUARDS ON EVERYTHING!!! If we want the guitar to look like shit, we can always modify it ourselves later on.

Peavey I understand. they're known for making some real ugly guitars, in the past. Just look at some of the 70 and 80 guitars!
But Gibson?! There's just no excuse!

I think the Rotor and V-type would be Peavey's strongest bid to get into the metal market. Their Wolfgang which can't be called a Wolfgang any more still looks pretty cool, but I guess without the EVH endorsement...
