I played the one that was on display at Namm in January and it DID play REALLY nicely. It WAS extremely comfortable to play...but.. I didn't see anything to justify the price. I've got a 1527 RG seven string that I think performs just as nicely...and the neck is only a shade thinner than that.

Horrible ugly guitar. No suprise though as that's what dean specialise in now it seems.

It looks cheap. There is no flow to the guitar, no class.
The paint scheme is like a cheap B.C Rich print, the neck pup looks wrong at that angle and its pointless too, the clumsy looking headstock...ugh. FAIL.

At $3000 it will be the guitar equivalent of Homer Simpsons car.

Its not like Rusty Cooley is a superstar either. I cant see the kids tripping over themselves to get his guitar.

Seriously though, $2999 for a 7 string! If I were in the market for one (which I'm not) I would go with a Universe first. Ibanez has been doing the 7 string thing a lot longer and I would trust them first.

I feel the main reason this guitar is priced so high is that they're not expecting to sell a bunch of them so they have to try to make their money off every one they sell. Plus this guy, no matter how good he is, isn't a household name so that's not gonna be enough to move guitars to the average customer. Plus the graphic is gonna also narrow down the appeal too.

He's very good. I've seen clips of him on Youtube, and I think he's got some instruction books/DVDs, but I don't know too much else about him either.
