Yes.The other one I have is too. But, that one was made of wood pieces for the dark part of the body. This one is not. It really is very cool. Here's the flipside.
I was researching Memphis guitars and Yamaha popped up. It seems that Yamaha was sued and sold their Gibson Lawsuit versions by selling them under the Memphis label. All I know is this guitar is very well made. The dude upgraded the tuners to Schallers.
It's a pawnshop find. It was priced at $149. I usually deal with Dave. "Dave's not here!" So, I dealt with the gal that is the backbone of the shop. Here is how that went; "Is there and room to deal here?" , I ask. She looked at the label and asked; "How much do you want to pay?". I said; "You tell me". She came back and asked; "$125?" I just said; "OK":ROTF: It came with the vintage case that even has the keys. I'm just a sucker.
I had a Memphis Les Paul when I was a kid. You would not believe how pissed off I got when I found out it had single coils under those humbucker covers!!! :ROTF:
I have a Memphis neck on the mini bich.
Temporay POS, but it works for now.
The LP shaped body is under a bench, somewhere.
Too stinky to make into firewood. And most likely toxic, as well.
Reminds me of an Ibanez Musician Series with slightly different cutaways, but I've only seen neck-through Musician Series guitars. In fact the day I bought my first Model 6 there was a beat-up Musician in the pawn shop that I almost got instead. I went back for it a week later but oif course it was gone...
But I was happy to have the Model 6 if I could only have 1 of the 2. But those are sweet guitars and that's a nice looking copy! Nice guitar, Fett!
