The black one nearest the neck turns the push-button system on.
the white ones are for which pickup(s) you want on, once you activate.
The last black one is a coil split option on the humbucker.
The tone control is also push-button/coil split.
If you have none of the white buttons pushed, and hit the black button closest to the neck, it's effectively a kill switch.
Kinda neato.
The ebony neck and the tone and the build quality are really what these Proline models were all about.
I bet if you put one in your hands, you would want to have more there.

I need to do some homework on the wood type Cyg... Alder??? I'm not sure off the top of my head.
But yes... very beefy.
I'm going to post some pics of this one next to the one I've had for 20 years and has been my main keeper axe... just have to download from my cell phone to hotmail.
Those are nice guitars. I still have a proline V. A little earlier than your new one and not quite as nice but I loved the neck and had it swapped on my #1 guitar for years.
