  • Amarant Death Angel-like custom axe

    Hey!

My custom built 7-string axe has just been finished a couple of days ago. It's been based on the cult-like Jackson Death Angel shape but the luthiers took it to the extremes with bevels and design-wise.I'll post a few pics, comments are welcome!

*Updated the pic links, hope they won't be too big.

Wow, now THOSE are bevels! For some reason it reminds me of the old Electra-Westone axes.

I can only see the last image (the others say don't hotlink) but that looks really nice. Hows it play?
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

I dunno if I like the unpainted-ness of the bevels, but overall it looks mean.

Wow, that's different. I like it! Headstock looks really coo, too.

The Bevels look cool, but they look like the wood is kinda thin, like the webbing between your fingers (for lack of a better description) maybe it's just the pic.

It plays fantastic, the luthier guys did a great job with the neck. It's a bit tilted from the upside so it's easier to reach the low strings even with small hands like I have.

It was a deliberate conception to make it sleek towards the edges like the I****z S series. It's 45 mms thick in the middle.

Not sure of "gorgeous" is a word allowed to be assosiated with such an aggressive looking guitar, but in my opinion that guitar is simply gorgeous

That just screams metal! I love it... i would add that it might be
nicer if the black in the body were solid black? Meaning no grain showing?
Although with the grain everywhere, it's still bad ass~!

I didn't want the wood grain to be covered, and don't really like solid colors,I'm mostly for natural finishes, but I wanted an inverse to my 6-string in colors, and since it's a maple top-ebony fretboard beauty (with a more conservative shape than this),this one needed black finish and a maple fretboard.I can tell, ash is the holy grail of woods for detuned metal...way more definite and articulate sound than mahogany and has more balls and chunk than alder or basswood. With this maple fretboard,it has a very fast and agressive attack and for leads,it produces an almost Les Paul-like tone, which was the biggest surprise to me.
