  • Nugent PRS's

I've been watching Metal Mania, and the 'Nuge has the baddest PRS's I ever seen. One has a zebra finish, and one is a snakeskin. Are these one-offs? Or refins? I've not seen these anywhere else. Damn I'm not a PRS fan, but I could be tempted by one of those. On a side note, every one that I've played at the GC has felt a bit "dodgy".

Same here. I have not liked the feel of the PRS's, although they are beautiful looking guitars.
I like Nugent's tone better when he played the Byrdlands, and speaking of that, I liked Carlos Santana's better when he played Les Pauls.
I've seen custom graphics on the PRS's, passed on a camo not too long ago.

I have an all mahogony(import) PRS SE standard 2005 and its a very solid great playing guitar.Didn't like the cheezy satin camo finish so its getting a black and white crackle finish at RSguitarworks.
I had a USA PRS ce 22 I think it was nice but not what I would call a great guitar.
Did play a Macarty model and it was a very nice player.IMO the pickups could have been better.
      Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Weren't Ted's guitars the first semi hollow guitars PRS made?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I believe they are are all semi hollows. He has been playing PRSs since 1974, long before anybody even knew what a PRS was, and even before there was even a company.............

I believe the snakeskin and zebra ones are one-offs. I thought they were made for Ted on his request.

According to the PRS book, NONE of Nugent's PRS guitars were semies. Even the Birdland copy he got from Paul Reed Smith was a solid body guitar.

Heh I doubt that the Nuge would even be bothered by a guitar THAT heavy. I mean, the guy is a one man army and he hunts with bow and arrow.

What was the first album with a PRS, then?
Even Wango Tango showed him with the Gibby, didn't it?
That was around '79 or 80.

Just dealing from faded memory here...

Yeah all of sweaty Teddy's PRS's are solid ody guitars. And were made form him when he was with Damn Yankees. Hes had them for years. And they are both one offs made exclusively for Ted.

I thought Ted's solid PRS' were part of the Metal series that came out?

PRS has made some cool customs from time to time, I think it was here where someone posted a pic of this guitar they made for Dan Spitz:

Not a fan of that Dean-like headstock, but it's a cool take on camo with that spalted top.
