Made in Korea or China. The Japanese Squier logos are gold. The MIM Squiers had black with gold trim logos.Just my observation.
The Jap Squiers had the full stratocaster logo with by Fender just below that not out on the ball end.
I tried to clean it up too but it just was too fuzzy to start with.
The Korea and China bodies are thinner than the MIM and MIJ models which are the proper thickness. Not bad players just sub par hardware wise.

Not true. I had a Made IN Korea Squier that looked just like that. And it had the normal thickness body. But had a slightly differant pup rout. The singles lined up differantly with a real fender pick guard. The middle pup was back slightly from a USA or MIM or even MIJ Fender.
I would bet its an MIK Squier. I havnt seen any Chinese made Squiers with it stating so in the front of the headstock, Or Indonesian ones either. So my bet is Korea. (not saying the chinese front sticker don't exsist i just havnt seen any) <disclaimer

Someone could poke ane eye out on this floppy strings!
Just like someone could poke aye out on loose wires coming out a certain little amp.
But, it's spring, the flowers are blooming, the bugs are coming out, and I don't give a rip right now. Back outside to play with my own awesome vintage tone monster.
I'll check back whenever it's time for another brewski.
I have to say Fett...that one of the best strats i ever played was a
Korean Koa L.E. one local in Phx. It was $800 (Looked like $2900!) I considered buying it
for about a week, went back one afternoon to talk myself into it,
and it was sold! The owner (Bob at Bizarre) said it rivalled many
$2K strats in tone and quality. So you may have a real nice one incoming? :-))
