  • You guys remember this?

Do you remember that crackle finish body i got off ebay a while back. The guy said it was a Jackson but it wasn't? Well I finally got it done except for a control cavity cover. and a bit of a gap in the neck pocket. But it works and the neck is straight in the pocket.

    Anyway here's some pics.

80's JB in bridge, duncan designed out of DK2S middle, and a japanese Squier pup. OFR

The neck is fast and smooth. Its the neck off my Japanese squier that became my original Frankenstien porject that broke last sept. (new one in works)

I may swap the hardware out for gold on this one. When i finish my new frankenstien. And use the chrome hardware on that.
The body here seems to be basswood. Making the singles warm , fat and smooth with clearity and deffinition. I put in the three holes for the mini toggles. The beidge switch is a SPDT for tapping the JB to make it sound like a hot strat.
I like it. Alot more that i thought i would with the disappointment i had with the whole ebay thing.

u did not seriously put a squier neck on that??

i reckon u'd lose the gap with a 22 fret neck...

body is awesome tho...i'd stick with silver or black hardware...

Yeah its a Japanese Squier neck. :P And the gap im reffering to is on the sides of the neck. not at the heal. It was actually cut for a 21 fret neck. The neck pocket was made wider and uneven. So the gap that bothers me is at the bass side of the pocket not at the end. And extra fret neck wont help that. I just need to make a shim or fill it in with something.

a Kramer? a strat body? hmmm
I dont recall ever seein a strat body on a kramer aside from the Baretta style body. Which is a modified strat body. There was the original USA made Kramers that were strat bodies but they were maple not basswood

Actually the early Pacers were very strat like. i'm quite sure. then they took on a more dinkyish look in the late 80's http://www.vintagekramer.com/pacer2.htm

                      hope this helps a little.
