  • I went Gibson again.

After having owned a lacklustre sounding Gibson Nighthawk and a Gibson SG with a neckprofile which I couldn't get on with, I once again placed my chips on the square with the big "G" and made myself owner of THIS.

A Lester Studio with Dimarzio pickups which according to my bassplayer I should rip out because they look "Offensive"

The guitar sounds fine and it plays really good too but according to my bassplayer they cream colored pickups clash with the otherwise completely black guitar.

I think the creme pickups look really nice with the guitar.

Give the pickups some cream-colored rings, and find a new bass player.

One suggestion an RS pot upgrade kit.It will make the paul sing.
                  Really? well screw Mark Twain.

+1 Those are great sounding guitars, and even greater with the upgrade

Nice guitar - and is your bassist an interior decorator, or what? Nothing wrong with a little contrast and if you like the way they sound I would stick with what works!
                      Ron is the MAN!!!!

Who can hear what color your pickups are? I don't think even Eric Johnson's ears are that good.

I think the white pickups provide a nice contrast. Maybe a zebra or two would look good, too.
Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

Not as offensive as what he did to his SG

are you and your bass player "special friends", we seem to be getting quite a few threads about his on going battle with douchbaggery lately

                          nice fiddle BTW

The pickups look fine, what kind of Dimarzios is it?

What guitar are you looking at that has white pickups? White is brighter. Those are cream colored.
