BC Rich Ignitor

I've just been offered a 1995 Ignitor. Its black, neckthru, got an ebony fretboard, no inlays, reversed ASM headstock, a couple paint chips on the front lower horn, licensed trem, BCR branded humbuckers. Comes with Warwick gigbag. Not been given any photos yet.

As a ballpark figure, how much should I offer?

they are very hard to price, they are very rare but have a very limited appeal. given they were only handmade customs they were pretty expensive new. most handmade BCRs (neckthrus) from that era ballpark $1000 is pretty fair. if its got no actives & no other options you may try a bit cheaper but, like i said ignitors rare & a hard sell due to there shape so take that into consideration.

What he want for it you'll need to know. Any USA hand made Rich should be worth $800-$1400 but someone at the BC Rich Forum could probably give you a better guess.

Being that it's chipped and has pretty basic spec, plus he's in the UK, would £400-£500 not be too insulting? $1000 is roughly £500 and naturally we pay VAT in the UK, so at this stage, I'm waiting for him to quote me a price. If I buy it, I've then got to find someone who can restore her to an acceptable state. I can always upgrade the trem and pups later.

I got mine on Ebay with a buy it now of $1700. I wanted it and didnt want to get in a bidding war so I just bit the bullet. Sure it might be on the high side but it is great guitar, probably #1 or #2 in my collection. I absolutely love the neck on it. extremely comfortable and it also has great sustain.

I know you've been looking for one for awhile Wilkinsi, so I say just go for it. Sounds cool with a reverse ASM headstock. Being a black guitar it's probably the easiest color to touch up paint chips too. Still would be nice if you could see pictures from the seller to make sure of its condition.
