I know it won't be cheap but what would be good sources to build a model 2 clone? I am looking to make one in that charvel electric blue. Are there any sources for headstock decals? Also is there any mfg making the pointy headstock or will I have to settle for fender style?

www.best-decals.com would be my first recommendation for the headstock decal. Although they've taken them off the website, I'm pretty sure they still have some in stock. Email them for info eh?

There are great condition Models to be had off ebay for not much $$$$...but that color might be hard to find.
The necks form Warmoth have heels that are 2 3/16 width....model neck pockets are 2 1/4....so it would be about 1/16 off...
don't know if that would cause any problems, never tried using a Warmoth neck in a Model body.Guitars: Burny Les Paul Custom, Epi Les Paul Custom, Charvel Model 1C, Alvarez Classical
Amps: Laney Pro Tube Lead AOR 100 Watt, Laney LC-30II, Fender Frontman 25 watt
Cab: Laney GS412P 4x12

I'd go the original and paint it up if needed route. who wants a copy when you can easily and more cheaply have the real thing?the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Search for the real thing. Building one will cost you 3 times as much.
$300-$400 for a finished Warmoth body, $250.00 for a neck, $250.00 for a floyd, $100 for a pickup another $ 60.00 for tuners, $60.00 for pots and cap and wire.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
