A Special one comes home...

Some of you may remember the '95 USA Hamer Special FM I bought from Pete (Twister Amps) many years ago. Well, I sold it to Travis (1trussell) about 3 and a half years ago. He just sold it back to me, and it arrived today. Man, did I miss her.
Here it is with its original Duncan JB/59 pups when I got it from Pete.

With the chrome 25th annivesary EMG 81s I put in her.

With the chrome covered Duncans now, Custom 5 and Alnico Pro 2.



This thing sounds great and is dripping with tone. Thanks Travis!

Glen tipton's hamers were nice... until he moved on to ESP

Glen and KK both had cool Hamers. I knew KK went with ESP, but didn't know about Glen.

KK Still uses some Hamers I believe, and Glenn only uses those acoustic ESP things for "Diamonds & Rust"

That is a beautiful Hamer!
One thing though...I have only heard the Custom 5 in mahogany body guitars. I couldn't even like it a little.

Oh...and to all of the other posters...ESP rocks.

Thanks. The Custom 5 came in my Charvel Star, with a Jazz in the neck. The Jazz rocks, but I didn't like the Custom 5... a little too scooped in the mids, so I went with a DiMarzio Tone Zone and prefer it. The Custom 5 sounds really great in the Hamer.

I've seen some Hamers in which they have taken the original piece of wood that had to be removed for the control cavity and took the axcess wood from underneath it so the cavity cover is wood with all of the grain matching...it is quite stunning even though it is on the back of the guitar.
