  • Esp V-500

    Hey guys

I was just at the music store today in my spare time. I took my KV pro into the Luthier there for him to look at the neck..

    Anyhow

I played an ESP V500 while I was waiting. I have to report, that it kicked Major ass. It was a LTD ESP V-500. It has a much different feeling then my Jackson KV's, but it felt really nice. Bends were great and intonation was very good.

The TOM felt very nice to rest my hand against, and the guitar has a nice weight to to it.

For the $750 Price tag, I'm a little weary about buying a guitar that's not at least Japanese made, but if I were to judge it purely on feel, playability, and looks, it was a very nice guitar.

    I was impressed.

Neck through, Grover Tuners, nice Pickups, and sollid hardware.. it felt good.

I have the LTD V350 model. Brilliant guitar. Pretty heavy mahogany body, but extremely well balanced. Very full and heavy sound too.

The V350 has no pickguard, black hardware (instead of nickel), tremolo and V shaped inlays. All right up my alley

      I have 2 LTD 400 series and
I have 2 LTD 1000 series. I didn't buy any of them new but knowing the quality now that I've had them, I would if I couldn't find 'like new' ones on the used market. Korea is the new Japan. They say that about auto manufacturing and it has trickled down into manufacturing of just about everything else too. In fact, the boat has been largely missed as far as Korean made guitars go because the prices have climbed up on them to the point that many manufacturers have 'moved on' to Malaysia and China to save on labour and other production costs.
Just think...20 years ago $750 probably could have purchased a pretty high end USA made guitar or similar. Some people will say 'yes, but inflation...' however, an entry level car is about the same number of dollars now as it was then so...

Doubtful. You're probably confusing it with Indonesia. I'm from Malaysia, and I'm fairly sure I would have heard about it if there were guitar factories opening in the country

I'm from Malaysia, the only thing we had here was a Line6 factory, but even that closed down years ago. I think you mean Indonesia.
