Looks very cool, btw. Glad to hear it plays as good as it looks.

One thing I should mention -- don't expect the usual tele neck profile. It's a bit more meaty. More like a Les Paul than tele for sure. It might be just me, but it feels a tad wider too, but I'm thinking that's just due to the neck profile. It's still very playable though, and I actually like it.

I'm really a passive guy, but I think it would just ruin the "vibe" of the guitar. I'll leave it alone.

I'm just blown away that he's out of Iowa... That in and of itself ups the "fan quotient". I think we're about the same age too - I'm 36.
Yep, you're around the same age. He was born in 1971. He'll be 38 this year.

It blows me away that he "made it" and it doesn't. If you knew him you'd understand that there was really no one else that worked as hard as he did to be the guitarist he is now. He gave up everything, and I do mean everything, and just sat at home and played his guitar. He had the drive so in my mind, he deserves it.

But I remember asking him a while ago if he's freakin' that he made it as a guitarist. He looked at me and said, "Not at all, I always saw myself doing this and I knew I would sooner or later".

I'm just amazed that record execs came to Des Moines to see Slipknot. Sure there is great tallent here but it's Des Moines. No direct flights.

If you are really looking for a white one, there is one here in town.

We are the same age - weird to think about it, considering what I'm betting he grew up on... (I can see him jamming out to "Love of a Lifetime" :ROTF

Actually, I'm not surprised about the level of his playing. Growing up out in the sticks here in southern MN, some of the best technical guitar players I've ever known were from around the region. There just wasn't a lot to do, not a lot of concerts to go to, so everyone listened to a LOT of music, and the guys that picked up guitar and got serious about it (I'm not one of those guys... ) wood-shedded for hours each day. There are some really awesome guitar players around this area of the world that nobody will ever know.

I've got a guy at GC checking on a white one for me, and he usually gives me rock star pricing on it. If he isn't able to come through, I'll PM you on it - thanks Scott!

No "Love Of A Lifetime" here. He hung with an older crowd, so he was listening to what we were. Slayer, Exodus, Testament, Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax. His favorite player then was Dave Mustaine. I don't know if it still is. But he use to practice Megadeth songs over and over and over while the rest of us sat there and smoked pot. HA!

God being a kid was fun.

Then his girlfriend did a duet with Mustaine. Life is a comic book sometimes.

I did my math wrong, He's 37 this year.

Heh - just had to throw it out there. I listened to the same stuff he did, as well as the "other stuff"... I didn't get a guitar until I was 19 though - I kinda missed the boat. But I still had a great time as a kid - I'll be 37 in November.

I remember how cool I thought he was when he could play all of side 1 of Accept's Metal Heart.

Yep, the Spain Warehouse was the party spot.

We use to trip acid and walk around that run down whatever it was behind it. The one building where half of it was gone. Surprised none of us got hurt or worse back there.

Atomic Opera was great when Matt Beeger (sp) was the singer, not so much when they got Scott Andreas.

The sweetest thing about that white one is the ebony board. The guy I bought this one from also had the white one and said it's got one of the nicer boards he's seen. I should be able to get one by the end of June. Hmmm...

The black hardware on these axes really set them off as well. I think I could black out a "normal tele" and it would look a lot cooler...

yeah, but what REALLY makes this one cool is the fact it has a normal fixed bridge and NOT the giant tele bridge!!!
