I had trouble reaching Chris by phone, so we've only had email communication. I asked him that same question and am waiting to hear back. I'd guess that since they can be removed without a trace, then, yeah, they had to be some kind of adhesive.

BTW, these can be bought for $199 shipped at other places, but Chris indicated this particular one is a keeper.....plays exceptionally well, good build quality, and sounds great, plus it comes with a gig bag. Also, I think they normally come with chrome knobs.....black looks much better and they are already installed.....one other small thing to not have to worry about. I think this is the least expensive guitar I've ever bought.

I'm sure the body shape of an electric guitar plays a role - but I bet you it is very minor. The electronics, mass of the bridge, type and mass of the wood, type of frets, neck girth, and fingerboar wood all play substantially more important roles.

In the case of a Tele, that pickup design with the steel plate makes a huge difference. I have a NAMM Jackson Jazzmaster with a mahogany neck through, maple top, v-trem, and a slightly chambered body. I promise you it sounds like a Tele. Why? It has a Tele style bridge pickup. Does it sound different than a Fender 52' reissue with a swamp ash body, bolt-on neck, and the 3-saddle hard tail tele bridge? Yes. A little - probably because the pickup is different. But in a band mix, nobody would know I'm wasn't playing a Tele.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

I'm going to pull the trigger on one, can you tell me if the tuners can fit large strings,
        lets say a 56 or a 60 for the low E.

Not to be against the J.R. but you may want to look at a Schecter PT standard model first. You can save about 300 bucks on the guitar.

Schecters are nice - but the JR is nicer! AND - it's a tele! My white one is due in this week.

              chris,
I got to hang with Jim a bit this weekend. They were doing pre-pro for the tour with Disturbed.

It was cool to A/B his models with the production models. His teles are lighter than a feather. I kid you not. The black one I was messing with couldn't have been more than 5 pounds. The thing was freaking light. Then I grabbed a production model and it was quite heavy. More heavy than his custom model. The must have used a nice piece of mahogany for his personal models.

              What's the weight on yours?

Scott - not sure. It feels like it's probably around 8# or so, but if I think of it, I'll check.

BTW - is he using the Thunderverb?

I think he's still using the Rockerverb. That's what he was the last time I worked for him and they looked like the same heads over the weekend. I'll check on that the next time I see him.

Man, if I didn't hate pickguards so much I'd have a hard time resisting one of those Peaveys...

I've gotta go down to Willie's and go on an Orange quest... I was saying that I really wanted to look at a Rocker 30, but it doesn't have a loop, which would make using a delay effect a little tough.

I've got two amps that are creating big blips on my radar right now - the Bogner Shiva, and the Orange Rocker 30. I really can't afford either of them though... The used ones really hold their value too.

Seems to me he had some Rockerverb100's made with effects loops in them. Or do they already come with them? Hell, I don't know.

All I know is I fucking HATE Orange amps. I'll be hearing them hum until the day I die.

Noisy, huh? I'll keep that in mind.

The Rockerverb 50 & 100 do have a loop, but not the 30.

                            Very, very, very, very noisy.

They can't take any kind of electrical fluxuation or they freak out like teenage girls at the mall.

Did I mention they were noisy?

I might like them if I didn't have to work with them. I prefered the Rivera much, much better. More solid than the Oranges ever were.

Well shit!! Thanks for raining on my parade!! Oh well - you probably saved me a trip to the store to look at something that costs too much anyway... My house has pretty "noisy wiring" already - it's almost 100 years old. Probably not the ideal situation.

Time to start watching for that Bogner Alchemist to come out...

                                chris,
If your amp stays in the same spot, I'm sure you can get it pretty quiet. It was the "different venue, different day, different power" crap that pissed me off. You won't have that at your house.

Having said what I have, when they are dialed in right, they sound fuckin' great.

The Rivera was just a better road amp than the Orange was IMHO. It was more rugged, not so tempramential.
