Speeding up the process (Gibson Faded guitars!)

Ok so i`ve heard that just from playing the guitars with the faded/worn finishes they will get shiny and smoother feeling. My question is,is there a way to speed up this process?(other than playing it more!) Also is it ok to use a guitar polish like Dunlop on these finishes?

Yeah, polish and a cloth can be used. Theres ways to get it shiny faster, but your going to scratch it. I used paper towels on my gibson gothic and it shined it up. It also, as i said, scratched the fuck out of it, didnt matter to me though, as ive been using it live for 5 or 6 years and its already about as fucked up as it will be.

Some people have sprayed it with Deft clear gloss.
