2 - getcha pull means the equivalent of cheers - "getcha pull on this bottle"
1 - It was Dimebag before the hair metal era and again after VDOP (credits still list him as Diamond on that album).

2 - Thanks! I assumed it was a smoking term (take a pull on a bong/bowl/joint) but I never knew for sure.

Wow, maybe I was smoking too much when I read the article. I have watched the home videos too, in fact I have Dimevision 1 right here, and I don't remember seeing any pot smoking at all. However, if I'm wrong, I apologize.

Don't forget though Matt, it's not the THC that gets you high, it's oxygen deprivation!

dimebag was a nickname given to him by his early pot dealer since thats all he bought when he was young & not famous & broke....so the story goes.

When I saw Pantera in 88 it was Diamond.

How is Dean's use of Dime any different than the Jackson/Rhoads relationship? Yes, the first Jackson was a Rhoads, but should Dean drop the Dime model in honor of his memory?

                        I think not.

And yes, Dime smoked pot - where do you think he got the name "Dimebag"? What, you thought it was a piggy bank?

Where did you see that? That's like saying a fish doesn't like water.

That's true. Diamond was never his idea......

Dime smoked weed. A lot of it. Dime drank coors light, Dime drank Blacktooths (either Crown Royal or Segrams, usually Crown with a splash of Coke and a small ice cube) Dime and that whole Texas crew could party for days on end non stop....I kid you not.

As for Dean Z.....he's a nice guy with a big heart. Dean was the only guitar company to donate guitars to the Ride for Dime benefits to raise money for "Little Kids Rock". I know because I contacted every guitar company I could for donations (including Jackson) and no one else came thru some never even responded. 2 others did and I find it ridiculous that the other companies one with initials for a name and one that ends with the letter Z both wrote back and said that because it was in Dime's name they wouldn't be able to be a part of it. What's that got to do with raising money for kids to keep their music programs in school....anyways Dean Z is a great guy and I wish him luck in his endeavors.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

I found it! Guitar World, April 1992 (Spinal Tap on the cover):

And there's another change, one very close to Darrell's heart.

"Listen" says the 25-year-old guitarist. "People have been calling me Diamond Darrell for too long. It's a mistake. I've always been called Dimebag Darrell by my friends. That's my real name. Dimebag Darrell - got it?"

I guess the booklet in my Australian Pantera box set is wrong, too. :ROTF:
"Pantera - Driven Downunder Tour '94 Souvenir Collection"
It features the Far Beyond Driven CD (featuring original banned cover and bonus track "The Badge"), Alive and Hostile (the live E.P.), the Walk E.P. (Japanese Collector's Edition), and an 8-page color biography. The booklet states "Diamond Darrell".
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
