Dude!!!!!.... c'mmon, did you just fell off the turnip truck?

For the record; Mark McGuire, Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Miguel Tejada, et. al. did not use performance enhancing substances.
and NO! O.J. did not do it.

How is Dean's use of Dime any different than the Jackson/Rhoads relationship? Yes, the first Jackson was a Rhoads, but should Dean drop the Dime model in honor of his memory?

        I think not.

And yes, Dime smoked pot - where do you think he got the name "Dimebag"? What, you thought it was a piggy bank?
Well, Matt, sorry to correct you, but he didn't get the name Dimebag from being a pothead. He said in an interview that he added the "Diamond" to his name when they were doing the early hair metal type stuff. Later on in their career, someone else misheard it and called him "Dimebag".

And at one point, Mustaine called him "Douchebag". :ROTF:

Don't believe everything you read Zeeg, use the force, use common sense.
What did you expect him to say? "Oh yeah I am a pot head" "oh yeah I buy by the bushell" "oh yeah I play butt ass ugly guitars" "oh yeah I play shitty amps too".

who cares? the guy was nothing more than a face to resurrect the brand. its not like he was the head luthier or anything.

How bizarre. I'll have to find the issue of GW where he corrects the interviewer saying 'Let's get this straight first - it's not "Diamond Darrel". It never was. It's "Dimebag".

                    dime designed the dimebag range

its disputed who 'designed' the soltero but i wouldnt give any patent rights to dean for anything

I heard the exact opposite story from what Zeegs says...that his nickname had been "Dimebag" but they glammed it up and changed it to "Diamond" which he never liked and went back to Dimebag once he was famous.

I also recall an interview with Zakk talking about hanging with Dime where he mentioned that they drank a lot together but that he didn't partake in Dime's smoking activities.

                        What's "Getcha Pull" mean?

The way I see it, running a company is nothing like building guitars anymore. Dean Zelinski is a luthier and I'm pretty sure that he felt the need to go back to building guitars by hand which is also what Wayne Charvel did when he left Charvel/Jackson.

I'm a luthier myself, I know how good it feels to work on a piece of wood and to make it into a guitar that's a one of a kind instrument, which is something that running a company where people put together dosens of guitars a day can't give you.

dean z didnt make any guitars after he came back to dean. its not like he was a luthier at all there.

when he came back they were outsourcing the builds to US Masters. now they have their own shop in tampa and a CNC machine.

he didnt leave because he wants to make guitars by hand.....the last time he left dean it was because he was sick of guitars and wanted to make furniture

1 - my understanding was that it was diamond darrell during the hair metal albums. later on (post cfh era) he changed it to dimebag darrell. because someone called him it and he liked it? sure. was it influenced by the fact that he was a stoner? sure

2 - getcha pull means the equivalent of cheers - "getcha pull on this bottle"
