Ok, enough of the HippieTim introduction

The most amazing guitar I have ever played! Bar none. The tonal difference are amazing on this guitar. The little toggle is the Varitone ByPass. You can set up a cool sound, then hit the switch to go back to your original tone.
The back shape of the neck feels identical to an RR1.

Fit and finish is absolutely flawless. No Gibson orange peel, no glue or binding mistakes, just perfect!

Only thing that is wrong on these, is that they are shipped with the incorrect length trem arm or Vibrola arm (too long). I fixed that with an aftermarket one I got today as well.
It weighs 10 lbs. even, but Oh, the sustain and acoustic properties are amazing.

Wow, that seems weighty for a semi-hollow body? I've never played a 335 or similar....is it normal for them to be that heavy?

              BTW, awesome overall!

Thanks! Yes, ES-355's were always heavy. I never did weigh my '82 ES-335, but I believe the 335 to be lighter. The ES-355 has just always been heavier, possibly due to the additional electronics (Varitone circuit) From what I have heard from other's 10 lbs. is about right on these. I just weighed the AL-355 on my postal scale. Looks like 9.6 lbs. So, this is one of the lighter ones.

Oh yeah, one more thing, it doesn't feel like the "boat anchor" feel of say a Les Paul Custom when you pick it up by the neck. Maybe because the mass is more spread out.

Of course 335's are heavy. They are big and maple.

That guitar is hot man. Very hot. Congrats!

Thats way to heavy for a ES 355???? I own a 63 and it probably a little over half that.

These must have the Alex Lifeson tone reinforcing bar bar??
Wow, yours must be light. Hmm, everyone on the Les Paul forum was saying ES-355's are just heavy????

I really do like the weight though. My '68 Custom Authentic LPC weighs in at 10.0 and I love the overall tone of that guitar.
