This was an old Marlin strat which my wife had bought over ten years ago. It was unplayable and the paint had been poorly stripped from it. I decided to have a go at doing it up into something worthwhile.
Here's the results. It now has three genuine Fender single coils from a USA strat, three new 250k pots, new string trees and a custom decal with my daughter's name on it (Freya, rather than Fender). I also cleaned the neck and used some linseed oil on it, along with tapping in a couple of loose frets and shimming the neck.
I had to make an adapter for the bridge pickup, as the scratchplate is a bizarre shape so can't get a replacement for the whole thing and I really wanted to do away with the humbucker.
Oh, BTW I repainted it in bright pink!![HeadBang](https://www.jcfonline.com/core/images/smilies/headbang.gif)
