There's wood soap you can use on maple necks that have wear areas. It leaves the 'wear' and gets the grit and grey out of the area.
It will clear out previous owner's DNA!JvicE

DY is my fave color.The finish on the neck is polyurethane and not lacquer.
You could strip the neck finish and just oil it but I doubt the darkness already there would come off.Cool just as it is.The F means its made in Japan 91.Really? well screw Mark Twain.
