  • And Yet Anothe Ibanez For My Collection

I took the plunge over the weekend on another piece that I've always wanted. Unlike the LNG Jem that I just scored, this one is well played with plenty of wear yet still in good condition...I won't be afraid to play it. Here is my new (to me) first year of production Ibanez Voyager RBM2NT #42 out 300 signed by Reb. Oiled Koa-topped Mahogany body with a solid Pau Ferro neck:

This one should be here next week...more pics coming at that time.

Nice Rupe - I've always been tempted by those, but the prices have generally scared me off!
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Rupe- another nice score along with the LNG!
I may be going out on a limb but let me guess...you are in your late 30's to mid 40's and you are buying guitars that you wanted when you were younger but could not afford them?
No offense because this is my case. There were so many cool guitars back then and they were not all Jacksons.
The voyager is one that is on my list.
No honey, I have always had this Jackson....

You're at least partially right, I just turned 40 earlier this year. As for buying guitars that I couldn't afford, it depends on how you look at it. Around the time this model was released, I did want it but I didn't really have the money to buy it. That said, I already owned a '79 Silverburst Les Paul Custom, a '76 Black Les Paul Custom, an '88 Rand, an '87 Jem 777DY, an '87 Soloist Custom, an '89 James Burton Signature Telecaster, and a newly acquired Jackson RR LTD (ordered November of '91). I suppose I could have had it if I chose to get rid of something else, which I always find hard to do In fact, I still own all of those except for the Silverburst, Soloist, and Jem (but I now have a different '87 Soloist and a Jem BFP with the LNG on the way).

I'm now in a position where I'm picking up a few pieces that always wanted as I couldn't buy them all back in the day. I then went through most of the 90's and part of the 2000's with my preference leaning more toward the classics (Gibson, Fender, Gretsch) than the "80's" guitars, but I have come back around to my roots and really enjoy playing the types of guitars that I dug in my younger years.
