Did that Original Floyd-7 trem fit in there with no problem?

Can't you order Carvins with OFR's?
      I'm angry because you're stupid

        Not 7-strings.

No. They use an OFR on their regular 6-string models, but just a licensed Floyd for their 7s.

Well, that makes all kinds of sense.

Yeah it's kind of retarded. I think 7-string OFR's were hard to get when Carvin first started making 7's and they just never bothered to change.

7 string floyds are still hard to come by.
Schecter seems to have a lock on all of the Black ones (for their Loomis model).
To get the OFR to go in I had to have to hook that goes past the post on the high E side ground down just a bit to fit in the existing route, and shaved it down on the front just a hair.
Also the neck radius on the Carvin is different than the radius that is set on the floyd out of the box. My tech shimmed the saddles accordingly and now it plays like a dream with this bridge in there.
That was it, a few of the guys over on the 7 string forum that are Carvin players have done this mod to theirs as well.
the big complaints about the Carvin 7's seem to be
                1. No OFR
                2. Proprietary Pickups (that means non standard size routes) which suck ass for playing metal.
                3. No option for non rounded edges.

I've got the OFR in there and I've got a set of BareKnuckles in there so I'm good on 2 out of the 3.

If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Interesting. I'll eventually get a DC727 or DC747, but I'll probably go with the hardtail version.
