  • Any Carvin DC127 owners?

Awaiting the arrival of my Carvin DC127 i won off ebay. I`ve only had one other guitar (Jackson) in all my years playing that was a neck through and that was so long ago i don`t remember much about the differences. (from bolt/set necks) Also the original Carvin pups were changed to EMG`s which is cool with me. Anyone have a DC127 and if so what do you think?

I've played a Bolt plus ... I know it's not the same thing, but I'd think the neck profiles are similar. Very beefy neck, but in a good way. I liked the 12" radius, but oddly enough, I like the Fender 9.5" radius better and you can't beat the Jackson compound radius. But it was still a good neck. But I guess that doesn't help much with the whole neck-thru thing. Still, Carvins are great guitars. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I had a DC400 a few years back that was really cool. Pretty much the same as the DC127, just active electronics and abalone inlays. The neck profile was similar to my old Charvel Model 6 and Model 5A, almost like the Jackson "speed neck" profile, just maybe a hair thicker.

I've played a few of them. They can vary pretty widely depending on the specs, but they are certainly very well made.

I have this walnut DC-200.. with Piezo pup. It's heavy! (about 14 lbs!) Workmanship is
great...plays like an upper end PRS. Carvin is major bang for the buck imo.

            Some more pics..

if they came in a 25.5" scale, id own MANY of them.

Very well built, good components, good fretwork on the 3 I owned.

I just could never get used to that scale with my fat fingers :S

WOW,that is a beaut!!! I`m a big fan of Carvin,in fact, they`re my favorite guitar company but i`ve only ever owned their bolt on neck guitars and never a neck through so this will be a first for that. I can`t wait to get it!!

And honestly I prefer the Bolt+ models.. But that's just my personal preference.. I still own 2 Bolt+Cs. A C66 and a CT6C. Carvin makes great stuff when ya get a good one.. I'm sure you'll love yours.
