  • New American Deluxe Ash Strat

Well, I never thought it would happen, but I bought a Strat. An American Deluxe Ash, to be specific.

Butterscotch Blonde finish, SCN noiseless pickups, S-1 switching system, Abalone inlays, locking tuners, etc.

It is, in all honesty, the best Strat I've ever played. When I ordered it, I apprehensively went with the maple fretboard even though I prefer rosewood. Maple just seemed more "Strat-like", so I went with that. Turns out it plays really well.

    The obligatory pics:

The only thing that disappointed me was the cheap molded case that came with it. For a guitar called "American Deluxe", I would have expected one of the premium tweed / plush cases. Heck, I would have even been happy with a 75.00 upcharge for the tweed case. I'll likely end up buying a tweed anyway for it; just looks classier.

Great color! Do all the USA deluxe models have the DZ S/N?

Very nice! Congrats! I really like the neck heel relief and the 2 point Am. Std Trem. Great color!

Hey is the trem on that synchronized? Or, is it the non-synchronized variety?

Hehe just kidding, but honestly I have always wondered what those wacky Fender dudes mean by that.

Who the fuck knows. One things for sure, it was probably included in the price.

Yes, if it was made in this decade. The D stands for Deluxe, the Z stands for the years from 00-09.

                    Nice Strat.

Can't they just sell me an unsynchronized trem, and I'll synchronize the damn thing myself?!? I have absolutely no idea what that means.

Are those a nitro cellulose or polyester finish?

nice score! I would always go with the maple board on a strat or tele... Something about the rosewood boards doesn't feel right. They always feel uncomfortable round the sides of the fretboard like the edges are rounded off differently to the one piece maple neck or something. I.m sure you'll be ripping out some killer blues licks on that thing!

That looks cool, I prefer the maple boards on Strats, and that combo looks great.

Nice strat! I have a Deluxe tele. I wish they used black dots though.
