Well, I never thought it would happen, but I bought a Strat. An American Deluxe Ash, to be specific.
Butterscotch Blonde finish, SCN noiseless pickups, S-1 switching system, Abalone inlays, locking tuners, etc.
It is, in all honesty, the best Strat I've ever played. When I ordered it, I apprehensively went with the maple fretboard even though I prefer rosewood. Maple just seemed more "Strat-like", so I went with that. Turns out it plays really well.
The obligatory pics:
The only thing that disappointed me was the cheap molded case that came with it. For a guitar called "American Deluxe", I would have expected one of the premium tweed / plush cases. Heck, I would have even been happy with a 75.00 upcharge for the tweed case. I'll likely end up buying a tweed anyway for it; just looks classier.
