Great, now I had 2 fucking guitars to carry! He must have been hurting for the cash though, it was only a few months old (I now know, thanks to you), and spotless. I think he wanted $600 for it. What did they cost brand new at the time, anyone know?

(Incidentally, I think there's only 1 genuine Vintage Ibanez on this thread, but fuck it, who cares!!)
Cool story! I found a price list that said Suggested Retail was $995 around Fall 1990 IIRC, so they were fairly expensive at the time. I wound up selling mine for $300 or so. I forget the exact number, but the guy paid a little more for it as it was formerly his, or at the very least reminded him of it.

And yes, there is only maybe 1 or 2 vintage Ibanez here aren't there. A shop owner has his '78 or so Post lawsuit LP copy up for sale, but He wanted around $1000 last time I checked, which for a guitar that has been gigged for probably 25 years and looks it seemed like a lot. Cool one though, with the fancy inlays, coil taps, and a great top/binding job.

I think as far as Strats go these old Ibanez Blazers are a good deal. Maybe I think they are too good a deal.

Oh, anyone got pickguards for sale?

If you ever consider selling that, please contact me

Ironically i just picked up a RG 7321 7 string off ebay, damn first post i saw today matt's post on the windows live rebate thingy, i frikin went shop happy damnit, lol, I had my eye on some X2N's for my Warrior build, and i also had a 10% off coupon from ebay so somehow i ended looking at 7 strings, and i found new 7321 with a case for pretty cheap, i stacked my 10% plus the Live rebate 25% on that and got it for under $300 shipped :O
I pretty much HAD to hit it!

Damn good day, i also got an email from the makers of my new video card that cost more than a few of my guitars, hey they want to give me 150.00 cash back because Nvidia just dropped the price of their top of the line cards by $150 do to the release of the competitions new product at almost half the price, so the people who just bought a their new video card 2 weeks ago got Shafted, (me) lol.
                i feel like a frog .... rebate...rebate...lol.

Edit: Post 420! It's a sign oh yes, i must obey

Gilbert's long fingers makes anything he plays look small.
I owned an older RG years ago and it had a slim wizard neck and it had its pro's and con's.
Playing lead was great but chording was a nightmare.
It tired and cramped my hand out quickly when chroding.
I truly would love to have a 301 one and the neck is the most part of the any guitar to me.
                    Thanks
It's probably 2mm thicker than a wizard. It's thinner than I like. I prefer the PC-1 profile since I have such massive hands. But I don't get cramps playing the PGM-301 so it's not bad at all. I love the massive frets on this guitar also almost makes it feel scalloped.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

My Duncan Designed pickups are way better than Seymour Duncan regular pickups you fanboy.

1990 Floral in mint condition, and stock... Thanks to HippieTim, it's
a closet classic! Plays like a dream, and looks more like a 2006 than
                          an 89'.
