  • My Warmother Project (with pictures)

Mahogony soloist body, OFR, Dimebucker, goto tuners, maple neck, blackend ebony, mop inlays, gold jumbo frets. still needs some tweaking

to me it looks like the pickup is not centered but I couldn't get the thing any further down. my inexperience has my paranoid. but such is life. it feels good to play but i don't like the dime in there.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

If it is, it wouldn't make any problems with the pickup.... thats my 2 cents.

      Looks very cool to me.

What don't you like about the dimebucker?

It's very screetchy. I think it's over powering the 500k volume pot hehe. the thing is loud, seriously high gain, i'm having a hard time dialing in my amp and pedals to it. I may grow into it, but right now the thing is just overkill. I'm going to re-check my grounds and such to make sure it's not something i did, but it has no buzz or anything, it's just way more extreme then i was expecting. makes the sh-6 seem tame

Nice job on the build. Who did the graphics?

I have no experience with the dimebucker, but in the absence of buzz, etc., it sounds like your wiring is fine.

i think you've just screwed in the pickup ring a little to the right. But you could re-centre it easily without making anything noticeable. It looks good man. Nice graphic

              Love the graphic, nice indeed.
              Hows it play?
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

I've heard it was too trebly for some people.
I'm beginning to like more of a medium output bridge pickup with something to boost after the guitar signal.
It gives a cleaner more articulate distortion (no muddyness) to me.
I really like the Pearly Gates in one of my guitars.

                  Very nice.

The Dimebucker might be too beasty. If you like blade pickups the Bill Lawrence L500XL is probably better (the Bill&Becky ones come with A5 now), or if you don't need blades the SD Full Shred (which is already screamy not not as much as the Dime or JB).

I had a dime, worst pup I ever heard. Extreme treble and bass with no mids and very hot, yuck.

Other thoughts would be the Norton or the Tone Zone. I'm building a Warmoth "Soloist" next (dinky, in Jackson parlance), and it's getting a Norton in the bridge.

The graphic was done by Daneen Bronson http://www.customairbrush.com/

the guitar plays great, still tweaking the action a bit, only had about an hour to fiddle around with it last night.
