Oh, that little thing? Damn. I was expecting bigger like my old Deluxe Players Strat with the pushbutton switch.

      NOS (Black) $3999
      Relic (Black over Sunburst) $4799

That pricing seems quite reasonable compared to the "bend over I'm coming in unlubricated for some serious rhino rump love" pricing associated with the EVH Frankenstrat.

      Rather get a Jackson CS.

Ok, that kills it for me. I can no longer play a 7.25"R neck

Yeah, I can just barely deal with the 9.5" on my Double Fat Strat.

They should start putting the 12" radius on more guitars besides the Deluxe Players Strat and the Eric Johnson Strat.

The CS Strat Pro has a 12" radius for sure and if I am not mistaken the Jim Root Tele as well, but I am not certain about that one.

Neat. I just checked Fender's site, and you're right, both of them also have the 12" radius. I may have to get a Jim Root Tele eventually.

This is the Holy Grail for me. There is none better then Gilmour in my eyes not even a close second. And on top of that it is being released the day after my birthday. Having said all that....... there is no way on earth I will be spending 4 grand on a strat that to me is Laughable. I guess i will have to hope that demand is high enough to make this an artist signature model (non CS ) in the future. I am very excited about the new CD/DVD set however .

I've asked a local dealer for the UK prices, I expect them to be in pounds what they are in dollars.

Carl, tell your wife you need it as a birthday gift.

Meh. For a guitar to actually play, you're way better off going to a store with a big selection, finding that one Strat that really plays and sounds good, and modding the heck out of it. I've currently got a parts strat (bought used) that puts to shame any Fender I've played in, well, forever. The only one I've played that I liked better was one of the old Strat Elites back in the day.

I've been waiting for this guitar for years. I'm very disappointed that it's priced so high. Unless this is retail and they'll come down to about the mid 2grand or so, there's no way I can afford this.
I've been told the UK prices will be
                        NOS: £2,699
                        Relic: £3,199

Double those for the dollar price!

I've been quoted a bit less than the full price, but it's still out of my price range at the moment. Oh well...

This sig guitar is LONG OVERDUE
dave is one of the most recognized and best strat players and it is about time fender issued a sig model for him
it is pricey but then again if you are a gilmour freak like me it would be cool to riff out some "time" or "money" on it
If it's not a CHARVEL then i dont want to play it,look at it or even fuckin THINK about it!

                                I agree with you.
I'll wait for the artist series, or play my tokai for now... just TOO pricey for an average Joe like me!
