I bought it used, so I didn't make any of the choices for it, but I like what the builder did.

The switch between the knobs does absolutely nothing--I need to pull the pickguard and have a look at it. The three mini-switches where the jack would normally go are individual three-way coil switches for each pickup. You can choose either or both coils on all three pickups. One of the most interesting settings is the inside coil on the bridge pickup by itself, which gives a very Tele-like tone. The pickups are all Dimarzios, though I'm not sure which ones.

The finish is cool--it's sort of a marble thing, but not quite so blatant.

It's got a baseball bat neck like the old Jeff Beck signature Strats, and the only downsides are the small fret size and 21-fret neck, though I haven't have much problem so far.

You could buy a real late 60's Strat for that kind of $ or multipal custom shop one's. $4000 or $5000 for a copy of a MUTT some people have more money than brains.

didn't fender have a gilmour strat back in the early 90's? it was red with a maple baoard and had the EMG SA pickups with one of the expander things....i thought it was based on a '57 re-issue and was priced the same as a clapton or beck strat - around $1399....

According to my good friend and Gilmour fanatic, he only EVER used EMGs when the light show and massive tour setup Floyd played with induced noise into the guitar signal. Otherwise, he plays custom and vintage passive pickups exclusively on the recordings.

Plus is it just me, or is "relic'ing" a guitar the stupidest fad in history.
I will not have an ounce of pitty for anyone that lays down the long jack a "relic'ed" guitar and can't get his money back when the fad dies.
