There were three Gibson eletrics I know of, that had a Maple fret board, MIII , MARAUDER and a LC5?? or something like that mid 70's. MAPLE and GIBSON just don't . . . . .
I have two MARAUDERS and a GIBSON MIII standard, BLACK with funky pic-guard.
This is the place where RUPE got a couple of RAND Guitars. At one time they had 10+ MIII's. I was there last week and only two left. . . .
The one on the link is a Deluxe and mine is a standard. The couch detracts from the strap.
The guitarshop.net is a couple miles from my house down here in Florida.Last edited by j4vice; 08-02-2008, 09:26 AM.JvicE

And it's RED!!!!!!
Never seen Red.
770 Great. I looks very good to excellent shape. That Gibson case will keep it that way.
Here's a pic of the MMIII I got last year and the Marauder I got in 76, both Maple neck Gibsons, both purple cases and weird PU configurations. I pulled the Marauder out of my warehouse where it was for over 25 YEARS! It had the retro strap..... . . . . .... . . ..
The neck inlays on both are also some what unique, Black Arrow Head abalone?? And little abalone dots on the maple Marauder.Last edited by j4vice; 08-03-2008, 01:33 AM.JvicE

John Ricco from Warrior Soul and Benny Rhynedance from Wildside used those - very cool guits... I've always liked them. Epi has one kinda like that now.

I didn't see that one, although I have seen similar variants of the MIII. One quite a bit like that one was on the Bay about 6 months ago.....I think it went for $800 or so. Interesting that they went with the WRC type headstocks late in the model's production.
Don't know if he'll get the BIN price for that one though.
