How bad do the Floyd Rose Discovery Series guitars suck?

I keep seeing these Floyd Rose Discovery Series guitars on the bay for super cheap. Anybody have one or have played one?

I'm thinking it would be nice to have as a beater or project guitar. I know you have to buy special strings, which might be the reason they don't sell, but otherwise are they junk or jem?

I assume they are made in some far off land, but is the floyd on them german made?

Personally I think they would be cooler if they had no headstock at all similar to a steinberger instead of the outline headstock.

Maybe I'll get one and saw the headstock off.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the Floyds on them are Chinese made, like the guitar. I was lookin' at those a while back and the Floyd Rose logo is in a different font. Though I may be thinking of the other series they had that didn't have a Speedloader system.

I have a DST2, and I had a DST3, and it plays great and stays perfectly in tune. I've actually won a few beers from my drummer when he bet me on two different occassions that it wouldn't stay in tune. I will say that getting strings is a pain in the ass, luckily I bought out Guitar Center's stock when they blew them out.

The only thing I really don't like about the guitar are the pickups are really hot and don't really clean up when I pull the volume back. Also the 3 way switch is crap. I had it go out on me during a gig and was stuck in the bridge postion until it finally started working again.
