  • Another home built guitar

I got alot of nice feedback here for my last build, so I thought I would share my progress on this one as well.
I've documented the build very closely with pictures, but I'll just post a few, I don't want to overdo it. I'm almost finished with it now, just waiting for the hardware to arrive.

After making the laminated neck (flamed maple / walnut) and laying out the body (zebrawood).

    Some simple inlays:

    Neck carving:

    Assembled:

    After carving the top:

    And the rear:

    And a full view:

This one is getting an oil finish, a Hipshot hardtail bridge, and a couple of Seymour Duncans - I just haven't decided which ones yet.

Great work - is that going to be a 6 sting or 7 string. The fretboard looks kinda wide.

I don't know, looks like a six string to me. I could be wrong though.

Sweet guitar! You have some serious skill!

A Rush fan that can make a sick ass axe like that is tops in my book! Great job man! I love that headstock shape, really goes well with the body and the dot inlays don't over power you. Makes you concentrate on the shape more. Excellent work dude. Make me one in trans blue please!

I'm going to be building more of these (not with the same woods) so if anyone is seriously interested, talk to me about it.

I'm usually very critical of headstock shapes, but I think you nailed it! That's a very cool looking headstock and I like the way it goes with the body.

edit: I wrote this without looking at Chasbo's post first. Looks like I'm not alone on the thoughts of the headstock shape.

That's awesome! Very nice job. Can't wait to see it finished. It reminds me a little of a Conklin.

+1 on what everybody said. I love the headstock and the body shape looks killer.
