That would be cool if you do, I really enjoyed the last few that you shared with us.

the holes are filled and shaped, and 2 coats of sand and sealer were applied today. i didn't get to film it, but it was kinda boring. also did some more binding on the jackson neck; one side had the excess binding filed down, and the nibs have been created to make the binding over frets part. i don't think i filmed that, either.

i'll get some more filmed soon.

Thanks for the update Sully! I find this quite interesting so it's neat to see how it progresses.

Edit: What happened to your endorsement to Dunkin' Donuts from the 3rd video?

Cool dude, you're comin along pretty good on that. The cavity fill was a nice touch, even though it is an unseen cosmetic, but hey might as well right?
That ReRanch paint that you are using, is that a 'Gibson Ebony' shade menat for refinishing, or just ReRanch's own black paint?

Can't wait until next time, looks really nice Sully.

thanks man! the reranch black that i bought was indeed gibson black. i have to say that i was going to leave the cavity alone, but i had zeeg's suggestion nagging at me, so i took care of it. i have to say i'm glad that i did.

so now i've got 2 more days of color coats, then 3 days of clear, then it gets to sit for a month. that'll work out though, as it will give me time to get the parts that i want to use (i think i'm going all black, and duncan p-rails), along with getting more done with ralph's sully "reissue."

A Schaller Fine tuner tail piece would be a nice add on, have you considered that? Whatever you decide it will rock, cause I've seen your other guitars and I gotta say you have good taste.

eh, i didn't really get the point of a fine tuning bridge on a guitar that won't have a locking nut, ya know? seems kinda unnecessary. most likely will have the standard gibson style hardware, but black. i might slap some sperzels on there, though. i'm looking forward to try out those p-rail pickups, though.

Good job filling the hole in the cavity. What did you use to fill that with? It looks pretty solid.

you're gonna laugh, but i used mighty putty!
it's a two part epoxy filler. i thought the commercials were hilarious, and my wife got it for me as a gag. i'd never use it on the face or back of a guitar, but i thought, why not?.

I'm don't think the Schaller would even fit on the Gibson posts. I seem to recall having that problem with a few guitars that it wouldn't fit on when I had one.
A Gibson TP-6, on the other hand, obviously, fits perfect, and I put one on my Les Paul. The main reason I did it was so I could have the tailpiece on the body since the original couldn't go that low (and I didn't want to wrap the strings over the tailpiece to be able to). Some Gibsons just have a slightly different neck angle and the tail has to be up higher.

And great job, Sully!! Would love to hear what you think of the P-Rails, too.

Hehe, that is cool. How was it to work with? Does it set up nice and hard?

I must admit, the commercials intrigued me too.

it goes pretty much like in the commercial; mash it like play doh and go for it. it sets up like epoxy; it was really easy to work with.
