  • Fender Strat Neck Angle

Is the neck angle on a Fender Strat with vintage trem the same as a guitar with a recessed Floyd, or a non-recessed Floyd?

I would say a recessed Floyd. Non recessed Floyd equipped guitars usually have a steeper angle to allow a bit of pull back. Non recessed/vintage trem equipped guitars usually have a pretty flat neck pocket.

Having said that, some non recessed Floyd guitars have a flat neck pocket too (like a Peavey Wolfgang for example), so the Floyd can sit on the body (dive only).

        Thanks.

I'm looking to get a Floyded strat, and was wondering if I should get a recessed or non-recessed.

I have an RR1T, SLATQH, and a USA Deluxe Strat, and all are equally comfortable for me to play. I was just curious if the Strat had the same neck angle as the other two.

Guess it won't matter which I get, recessed or not.
