  • 2008 Gibson Les Paul Axcess w/Floyd

Has anybody seen or played one?

They look and play very nice. The floyd holds up very well and the neck joint is to die for, as far as Les Pauls go. The only thing that would make this a killer guitar would be taking $1500 off the price tag.

I played one. I was totally expecting it to suck. It was brilliant. Too bad it's way overpriced. If it were 2K I'd own one.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

I loved everything about the one I played except, I felt the frets needed to be a little larger for my tastes. It was one of the best factory setup Gibson guitars I had ever touched before. Neck joint should be on EVERY Les Paul.

Does annyone know if these are chambered or have the swiss cheese holes? I had a Chambered Custom Classic Silverburst for a short while and the Les Paul tone I was expecting just was not there.

I believe they are weight relieved since most of the LP line these days are with the exception of some of the CS Historics.
Some of the LP conoisseurs might be able to provide more insight.

The axe looks cool, I love to try one.

I want one of these that looks like the Custom Classic Silverburst I had. They really need to lose those fucked up kluson tuners. Chrome Grovers would look much better IMHO! I agree the price is about $1500 more then it should be and the frets do look really skinny?

Played one and LOVED it (depsite not being a recessed trem guy)...stupid price tag but I will eventually break down and grab one. I was VERY impressed.

The one I played was awesome, nice string tension, great pkus (coil splitter built in) and was super light weight! Love the comfort contours (tummy and neck heel),...great guitar!

The body is chambered (reducing weight) and the neck is plex'd.

I´ve only seen the pics and specs, and although they look great I won´t buy one... for 3500 bucks I want more control over the specs.

I´m sure they´d sell a boatload if they did something similar in... say, LP Classic territory.

Local Guitar Center had two of them. Beautiful. Second best bridge/guitar combo since Strat & Floyd (which I proudly own!). They wanted 'round $2400 for 'em, though. I agree with the poster above -- knock $1500 off and I'll think about it.
8 strings? Because 6 is too easy?

You think a Les Paul with an AANJ and a Floyd will give you the classic Les Paul Tone?

Not to say it wouldn't sound good, but I isn't going to sound like, say, Jimmy Page.

Good point. Although, I would be willing to sacrifice some of that LP tone for a guitar that will stay in tune.
