  • ESP EX series

Anyone had any experience with these? I just won one of them on the Bay for one hell of a good price. It's a Japan EX Std.

Very comfortable guitars. I think this shape is just as cool as the original explorer shape too. Congrats!

Thanks man! I'm a one-guitar person, so I'm going to make a decision on whether to keep this or swap it out with my current guitar (1991 USA Jackson Fusion) when it gets here. I love the EX body style, but I'm not a huge fan of rosewood fbs, the volume knob is in kinda an inconvenient position, no Floyd, and I've already pretty heavily customized my Fusion - we'll see, I guess. If not I'll resell it.

Oh, and neck feel, too. That's the main thing I judge my guits by.

Your current guitar is USA Fusion? No brainer - dump the ESP.

I still think the original Explorer shape is better, but it's not too bad pointy. Though, is there anyone ESP doesn't rip off? Charvel made a pointy Explorer like that in the '80s for Oz Fox and Chris Holmes. Wayne Charvel now makes Oz Fox's signature guitar like that.
