I briefly had the Dellinger 7-string version. Quality very much in line with a USA Jackson. In fact, the neck shape and overall feel were very much like what a 7-string USA Dinky would be. Ultimately, I sold it because I already had too many 7-strings. The company was indeed started by the guys who used to run Jackson's Japanese operations back in the '90s. In fact, the Horus model is based on a Japanese-only Jackson model called the Falcon.

                  I didn't notice that. That's really clever.

It definitely lives up to the hype. The neck shape is very comfortable, on the thinner side, but not Ibanez thin. The unfinished neck is crazy smooth. Favorite neck of all the guitars I have. The guitar itself is fairly light. I swapped the bridge pickup for a X2N and it chugs nicely.

...and a close-up of the inlays for anyone interested.

The caparison forum have a history of the company and Itaru Kanno's past with Jackson in Japan. In some of the old Jackson Stars threads, there was debate about where they got some of their facts from. In particular, it appears that they lifted some from our own Henrik, but it makes for an interesting read regardless:

I don't own a Caparison, but for me it was their association with James Murphy (Death, Cancer, Testament, Disincarnate, etc.) that led me to look into them. They're just a bit too pricey for my liking and they strictly control what markets their retailers sell into.

Mattias Eklundh plays them. He is a very innovative guitarist with a great sense of humor.

Here he is promoting his album freak guitar kitchen or something like that.

I've been into Caparisons for a while.

The only thing that bothers me is their 27 fret line... The Horus is one of the sexiest guitars I've ever seen, but the 24" 3/4 scale and bolton neck is kind of what would draw me to the Orbit's 25" 1/2 scale and nech through construction, if it wasn't so damn ugly.
Classic case of not being able to have your cake, and eat it too. haha
Its all fun and games till you get yogurt in your eye.; -AK47

Pete from the Absence has 2 customs w/maple fret boards. Sexy ass guitars. If you order from someone like Ishibashi they come in around the USA Select series pricing. Buying them stateside is insane though. Crazy mark up.
