LOL, yeah, that is odd. I've often seen them with covers too. I had a set on an old Washburn, and they had covers. They were also probably the shittiest sounding pickups I've ever heard in my life. I mean, they were so bad, it's hard to imagine that they didn't really try to make them sound that bad.
