  • Epiphone w/ Shark fins?

I have never seen (or can remember) one of these:

Not sure why a white pickup on an all black guitar but whatever....

But those look like Jackson Shark Fin inlays.

The pickup's aftermarket, I'm sure. Agreed the taste of that is questionable.

The guitar's legit; pretty much everybody made guitars with sharkies and pointy headstocks in the 80s. I personally wouldn't pay $200 because I can't stand 21-fret guitars, which that is. I have to have at least 22 frets.

You'll see Guilds from the 80s that also have sharkies and only 21 frets, I don't like them either because they're short a fret. I prefer 24 frets but can deal with 22, but no less.
    Ron is the MAN!!!!

I had one of those as my first "real" guitar back in '88. Yeah the trem sucks the guitar is alright, but I wouldn't mind getting one for old time sakes.

Heh, anyone that complains about some of Jackson's trem choices never had the pleasure of playing a guitar with the trem in the picture. I had an Epi Explorer with one of those, and it was the most worthless chunk of scrap metal ever. Of course, I just some of the Charvettes used the same trem . . .

I had one on my BC Rich Platinum (Korean made) from the Late 80s. Absolutely horrible. I seem to remember that the route required significant work to get a Floyd in there. Does anyone have experience with this?

Maybe $100 for it... junk trems, and I have an X-1000 from the same era. the fit finish on it is horrible, and is in my basement awaiting a refinish. I will say the worse trem ever may of been the cheap Steinbergers they used on the X-1000 and a couple of Gibbys back then? I think it was called the KB. I thought about having new (none bent...) posts made, the trem is just a massive pot metal piece of crap.
