  • GMW Super Strat INDA house

    Well, here she is.
I'm told the year is 99 or 2000 and it's the only 70's large strathead Lee ever made - German Floyd, stainless steel frets and SD pickups. The color is a 'tangerine fade' with almost yellow on the horns fading into a deep red. Big cutaway and angled neckplate are very comfy too. big V-neck like Jeff Beck style.

    I'm really digging the fade.
    Nice score!

I love the color scheme, I think I've seen that one before maybe, PLUS it's got a recessed Floyd, can't beat that. My main player is a GMW, love the thing to death, it just feels like home to me. Congrats on the guitar!

Not a fan of the knobs or the pickguard but the rest is very cool!

You should ask Lee about that one - something that unique should stand out.

Cool. That is Lee's neck head carve. Very comfy and functional if not the most orthodox.

Strat God - I was talking to Lee tonight about some other stuff and mentioned your guitar. If it has a V profile he said it's probably a Warmoth neck - if that's the case the guitar would be much older - he figured probably about 15-20 years old or so. He also said that they did the large headstocks from time to time - mostly when guys wanted to do VH I black/white replicas. You should be able to pop the neck off and see if it's a Warmoth - the turtle will be there.

The neck heel looks like all of my GMWs except the latest one I got.

Thanks for the ifo you guys -
Tim - yeah, it's a pretty sharp v-neck. I thought it was probably older too. I've never seen this color scheme before so I thought that might make it stand out a bit from the pack. The fret markers are coffee colored- not the normal white. It's a GREAT player- don't know what Seymour's are in there but I'll pull the guard at some point and check.

I love that finish. What an interesting variation on the usual burst patterns.

Very cool, and imo...nothing made beats a GMW! They are on par with
anything ive ever had my hands on, and ive played a few $9K axes..
GMW equals them all! Great fade color too!
